Attendance

Nollamara Primary School

NOTE

Children are encouraged to arrive at school by 8.30am and go directly to their class. Attending school every day is important. Western Australian law stipulates that all school-aged children must go to and attend school every day. Developing the habit of going to school every day is vitally important so your child does not miss out on important ideas and skills they need for future learning.

Breakfast Club program operates every day in the undercover area from 8.10am-8.35am. School concludes each day at 2.50pm. For safety reasons, our gate near Harrison Street is locked at 8.45am each morning. Students are encouraged to come through the office if arriving after this time and will be issued a green late slip to give to their class teacher. This ensures that attendance rolls are accurate every day.

Late Arrivals

When a student arrives after the 8.45am morning bell, they need to come through the front office to collect a late note for their teacher. Attendance at school is recorded twice daily.

Absences

If your child is sick please contact the office on 08 9413 1550 before 9.00am so we can mark your child as a notified absence. If we do not get notified you will receive a SMS message advising you that you child is absent from school. Please contact the school if you receive this notification.

If your child has been away from school for any reason, please write a note to the child’s teacher explaining why your child has been away.  If your child has been sick and has been seen by a doctor or visited a hospital, please send the medical certificate to school when the child returns.  Please note this is a legal requirement in the Education Act.

If you are planning a family holiday we do recommend that you make arrangements for during school holidays. However, if your plans involve your family going away on holidays during the school term please discuss your travel plans with the principal beforehand so that together, we may come up with a plan to ensure your child doesn’t miss out on valuable educational lessons.

Leaving School Grounds

Students are not permitted to leave the school grounds at any time unless there is a note from the parents to the principal or classroom teacher. Parents, carers or an authorised person wishing to collect students during school hours needs to report to the administration office where they will be issued with a leave pass. This will ensure that appropriate adults are collecting children from the school. If parents require a friend to collect any child on their behalf, a signed note to this effect is required or please telephone the school.
